It’s only appropriate that I’m sharing this on Giving Tuesday! There is no better time to give back than during the Holidays. I’ve been working on a special project with a wonderful non-profit that benefits families with children living with cancer.
Every Final Friday at the Pendleton Arts Center is amazing. This one especially so, not only because I’m artist of the month, but we’re holding a fundraiser exhibit supporting The Dragonfly Foundation and the pediatric cancer patients and their families they serve.
“Six by Six” exhibition will feature art in 6 x 6-inch squares. What makes this exhibit so special is that artwork by Pendleton artists will hang side-by-side next to Dragonfly patients’ works creating a community of artwork. Each piece is available to buy for $10 with proceeds going directly to benefiting Dragonfly families.
About the Dragonfly Foundation
The Dragonfly Foundation helps pediatric cancer patients and their families find strength, courage, and joy by providing emotional, relational, and practical support. What makes Dragonfly such a compelling organization is that they offer families a holistic, uncompromising, fighting chance at well-being. They look past the illness of the child and see an family struggling to strive for fulfilling and complete lives during and after treatment. Though treatment may end, and illness may be cured or managed, the long-term effects, the emotional, physical and financial toll on the family unit often linger long after the battle is won or lost.
Pretty powerful, right? That’s why I’m very happy I can help support such an amazing non-profit through the organization of this exhibit. I hope you will too!
