I've done many model shoots throughout my career, taking anywhere from 50 to 200 photos. I hope to get 5 paintings out of each shoot. On a very hot August day in 2010, I took 169 photos of a beautiful women in various locations. I've done many paintings of her over the 11 years but there was one photo I always wanted to paint, but I never felt ready to paint it.
I didn't want to just copy the photo. I wanted to make a moving painting. I recently painted Rose Colored Glasses.
It's a mixed media painting. 48x60. Gallery wrapped. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I love the mystery. Is she waiting for someone? Straightening the curtains in her perfect life? Watching the world from the safety of her home? Everyone sees it differently. What do you see?
